About the Artist

My work embraces stillness, motion and drama.
JAC
I was born in London, England. After graduation in the UK, I traveled extensively through Europe and the Far East and later worked and lived in the Middle East for three years.
I moved to the United States in the mid-1970s to continue my education, earning a bachelor degree in Visual Arts and Dance followed by a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Loyola Marymount University in Southern California.
My professional life included various marketing and managerial positions in the Advertising and Automotive industries. Throughout my corporate career I continued my artistic pursuits by attending various UCLA extension courses alongside private tutoring. This exposure enabled me to expand both my knowledge of art history as well as my technical understanding.
I am inspired and influenced by the works of John Singer Sargent, Tamara De Lempicka. Vincent Van Gogh and Pierre Auguste Renoir. Sargent for his integration of both an abandoned looseness alongside technical exactness. His complexity of color within finite areas is masterful. De Lempicka for her daring of angular dissection and integration of industry and fashion. Van Gogh for his exploration through multiple journeys shows a bravery to be admired. Renoir for his brilliance in light and dark.
Exposure to different cultures and my love of dance and sport are sources of inspiration.
I paint the physical body integrating form with the artistry of both fashion, dance and nature. My work embraces stillness, motion and drama.
